Cast iron has been used for components of machinery, the engine of automobiles, and breaking systems.
Now the use of ductile cast iron is more increasing than gray cast iron. Main troubles of tools in continuous machining of ductile cast iron are flaking and wear on nose radius which shorten the tool life.
Ductile cast iron also has problems such as much more frequent built-up edges and damage on the coating than those of gray cast iron. It has also the tendency of higher tensile strength and hardness and lower heat conductivity, which leads to faster progress of wear on nose radius by physical friction, than gray cast iron. This property of matter causes micro chipping on the blade and downgrades cutting quality and surface roughness.
Our new grade for turning and cast iron machining, NC6215 has more powerful wear resistance and contact to coatings. This results in 30% extended tool life than competitors’, while wear on nose radius is proceeded stably. Not only that, it delayed flaking of coating at upper side of inserts and cracks on the blade to apply a special substrate with high toughness which is ideal for cutting cast iron.
VR chip breaker for turning application strengthens cutting edges, and this is why our inserts ensures not only stable tool life but high efficiency and productivity at roughing cast iron.
We guarantee its excellent performance when machining break disks and drum’s faces.
