KORLOY has released an advanced double-sided 6-corner shoulder milling tool, the RM6.
RM6 features strong clamping screws, a 3-side supporting system, and thicker inserts, delivering higher productivity
and quality results in medium to high feed applications such as 0.3~0.4 mm/tooth.
Wide minor cutting edges provide multi-functional capability in shouldering, ramping, helical cutting, and more
applications with a single tool. This enables shorter tool change time, resulting in lower costs and higher productivity. The application of a double-sided 6-corner also helps maximize cost efficiency.
Cutting resistance is over 20% lower than the existing tools thanks to its proprietary insert design of high rake angle
chip breakers over 25°, and sharp blades of 11°. 3-step relief surfaces on side face were applied to more effectively
protect non-cutting edges and increase insert rigidity compared to conventional double-sided tools.
RM6 is equipped with a wide selection of grades for various applications. It is recommended to apply the PVD coated grade PC5300 in general cutting, PC3600 in steel cutting, and PC6510 in gray cast iron. PC5400 performs its best in interrupted cutting or tough workpieces due to its high toughness substrate and lubricative coating layers.
