KOROY has released a new high feed milling tool - the HFM for small diameter machining.
The need for high feed tooling has grown while the materials of molds tend to be harder. Small size tooling is required for the electronic parts and mold manufacturers to achieve high productivity.
However, increasing productivity has been limited due to the absence of small size high feed tools for high hardness steels.
HFM extends the range of process to small diameter up to Ø8~ Ø20, improving productivity with more number of teeth, compared to our HRM(D).
A high helix angle on the cutting edge reduces cutting resistance, while the negative axial rake angle of holder reduces the contact surface on the workpiece, minimizing wear and vibration. The ultrafine grain substrate and specialized coated layer highly improve anti-chipping and ensure stable tool life.
To deliver stable tool life in high hardness mold steel as well as P / M / K / S type materials, the HFM offers the MF chip breaker for light cutting, and none chip breaker type for high hardness cutting, along with four types of grades—PC5300 / PC5400 for general cutting, and PC2510 / PC2505 for high hardness cutting.
