By applying KORLOY’s proprietary manufacturing technology, we have newly launched the MM Chipbreaker lineup for the tangential 8-corner square milling tool, Tangen-Pro TP8P.
The Tangen-Pro TP8P universal SOKX-MM insert features a toughness-enhanced cutting edge and an optimized helix angle, delivering outstanding performance in machining steel and cast iron. In addition, compared to conventional square shoulder milling tools, it offers up to 8 usable corners, thanks to its tangential clamping structure which provides ample chip pocket space. This allows for multi-directional applications, excellent clamping stability, and improved productivity by enabling higher table feed rates compared to radial-type tools.
Furthermore, it is fully compatible with existing TP8P holders, allowing current users to simply replace the inserts without changing holders, enabling immediate use.
The Tangen-Pro TP8P MM Chipbreaker improves productivity by over 30% compared to radial-type tools through increased table feed, stable clamping, and high-speed, high-feed machining with sharp-edged design. Combined with the universal PC5300 grade, it offers versatility across various workpiece materials, especially demonstrating excellent performance in steel and cast iron machining.
